FAQ
Quick answers for the common buying decisions: bag count, ready-mix, and waste allowance.
For a 10 ft by 10 ft slab at 4 inches thick, plan on about 62 bags of 80 lb concrete after the default 10% waste allowance. You can edit waste in the calculator.
Bags are practical for small pours and post holes. Larger slabs are usually easier to order by the cubic yard, especially once the bag count gets hard to mix by hand.
A 5% to 15% waste allowance helps cover uneven subgrade, spillage, and small measuring errors so the pour is not short.
